About the event

The fall concert celebrates two important events in the history of the Chorale: Bingham Vick, Jr., is conducting his final concert, after leading the Chorale since 1981, and the Chorale will begin a new era with a new conductor and artistic director, Anthony Bernarducci.

Maestro Vick’s final concert opens with the glorious setting of Psalm 100 & 108: “Awake, psaltery and harp!…Make a joyful noise unto the Lord all ye lands. ” – the opening movement of Leonard Bernstein’s exciting Chichester Psalms. Completing the first half of the concert is Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Dona Nobis Pacem. The text speaks of the horrors of war and a plea for peace. Soloists are Kathryn Knauer, soprano and David Parker, bass.

LUX: the Dawn from on High by Dan Forrest was commissioned by Gordon and Sarah Herring for the Greenville Chorale in 2018. Soloists are Lisa Barksdale, soprano, and T.J. Turner, tenor.
